Terri Sharpe graduated the University of WA with a Masters Degree in Psychology in 1994, but missed her formal graduation ceremony as she was living in a tent in Margaret River - piecing together her first surf guide Waxed: A Guide to Surfing Hot Spots in South West WA. Self published in 1999, Waxed was penned under the author name Matt Terry, for perceived credibility from the market audience at which the book was aimed (this being male 15 to 45 year olds). 2000 copies sold in twelve months. Almost fifteen years later, Terri and her surfing partner Jason self published Surfing Margaret River: A Cape to Cape Guide (2014), utilising Jasons extensive knowledge of surf in the Cape to Cape region, and more than twenty years of Terris surf photography. The couple reside in Margaret River with their two children, dog, and rabbit.
